MetaTrader 4 | Close-Only EA

Act before a stop-out closes every position.

When free margin drops below your chosen threshold, RunFromLosscut automatically closes positions starting with the smallest loss. This MT4 EA helps you manage margin levels and may help avoid a broker-enforced liquidation of all open positions.

The free edition is available for backtesting and demo accounts. The MT4 edition is required for live-account use.

All your positions can be closed before the market has a chance to recover.

Depending on a broker’s rules, a drop in the margin maintenance ratio may trigger the forced liquidation of every open position.

Sometimes, closing just one or two positions may be enough to restore the margin level. If the market then recovers, you might have preferred to keep some positions open—but a broker-enforced stop-out can close them all at once.

Instead of waiting for every position to be liquidated, set rules to reduce exposure selectively.

Monitor free margin and respond at the levels you choose.

RunFromLosscut monitors free margin in MT4. When it falls below your activation threshold, the EA starts closing positions in profit-and-loss order and continues until free margin rises above your recovery target.

  1. Set the activation threshold

Choose the free-margin amount below which the EA should start closing positions.

  2. Close positions with the smallest losses first

The EA closes positions by market order, starting with positions that have the highest profit or the smallest loss.

  3. Stop at your recovery target

The EA stops closing positions once free margin rises above your specified target.

Define the levels in advance, and automate your response when free margin falls.

Put your margin-response rules in place ahead of time.

When markets move quickly, deciding which positions to close can be stressful. RunFromLosscut helps you respond according to free-margin thresholds you set in advance.

Risks and Important Information

RunFromLosscut cannot guarantee that a stop-out or margin call will be avoided. During sharp market moves or significant spread widening, positions may not be closed in time or orders may not be executed. Free margin may also fail to recover even after all positions have been closed, potentially leaving you in a situation similar to a broker-enforced stop-out. The EA does not filter positions by magic number or similar criteria. It closes positions in the account by profit and loss, starting with the highest-profit or lowest-loss positions. Please check the EA settings and the positions in the account before use. The author accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage arising from use of this software. Test the EA in a backtest and on a demo account before using it on a live account. Use it at your own risk.
